Partners like Oregon Department of Forestry, Washington Department of Natural Resources, OSU Extension, WSU Extension, and Natural Resources Conservation Service can provide you with technical and financial assistance to help you meet your goals for your property, implement best management practices, connect you with our region’s forest/natural resource consultants and contractors, and help you better understand the work your federal, tribal and private neighbors are doing across the landscape.

In Oregon start by contacting your Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Stewardship Forester. 

  • Services they provide include: (1) technical assistance (2) a free visit/walk through with you on your property (3) a forest management plan to help you meet your goals and vision for your land (4) potential funds to implement forest restoration or fuel reduction projects and (5) connecting you to high quality local contractors or resource professionals to implement your project. 

  • In Washington, start by contacting your Washington State Department of Natural Resources (WA-DNR) family forestland forester (Walla Walla) or Resource Conservation District/Natural Resources Conservation Service office (Spokane). 

  • Services they provide include (1) technical assistance (2) a free visit/walk through with you on your property (3) a forest management plan to help you meet your goals and vision for your land (4) potential funds to implement forest restoration or fuel reduction projects and (5) connecting you to local contractors or resource professionals to implement your project.
